Procrastination post #1
Dec. 7th, 2009 09:00 pmOne project and one exam down, one paper and two more exams to go. :/ My Japanese exam was today (ironic given that today is the 68th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and that I bought the first volume of Barefoot Gen in the college bookstore -- what, it was on sale! XD), and I have to say it went very well! So I'm spending the next couple of hours relaxing and procrastinating until I start research on my IEP paper. I'm really far behind on that, and I need to at least start writing it by Thursday morning because it's due Friday at noon (our prof sent us an e-mail today saying it was due at noon rather than at 5 PM as it said in the syllabus -- what the fuck, professor, what the fuck B\). But I only got out of my exam four hours ago -- I still got time, right? 8D
Most of what I've been doing lately is stalking /cm/ and /y/, which I never do because I hate 4chan, but it was Transfriday last Friday and there were so many threads on /cm/ for other fandoms I stalk that....well.....let's just say I'm going to share ZIP files of what I've found and leave it at that, OK? ;-) (I'm sure many of you have most of the stuff in these already, but whatever.)
Transformers /cm/ -- Transfridays, December '09 (all six threads of 'em! O_o)
UC Gundam /cm/
Evangelion /cm/ (mostly Kaworu/Shinji)
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei /cm/
Baccano! /cm/
And sticking with anime for a moment:
Moyashimon Manga Gets 2010 Live-Action Drama Green-Lit
....Pretty good news, no? :D
And speaking of anniversaries, I was meaning to write about the École Polytechnique massacre, which happened twenty years ago yesterday, but I plain forgot. So I'll just link to the Wikipedia article about it. I only found out about it a couple of months ago, and I figure y'all should know about it too.
And because the Copenhagen climate talks have started today, here are a couple of links regarding them, because I am an ES major after all and should care and write more about this stuff:
Guide to COP15 climate change talks (a good place to start, and it's from Grist, a trustworthy environmental news source)
Good News Roundup, Day 1
EPA finally makes it official: Greenhouse gases endanger the American public
And because I haven't posted about Iran since this past summer: Iran protests met with beatings, tear gas as Green Movement adopts new methods
And some other interesting articles:
Old criminal records are life sentences in job market
Chinese activist in limbo at Tokyo airport
Finally, some memes! First one's from
childings:
Jack the first sentence from the first entry of each month this year you've made and copy and paste it here. Call it a year in review.
