No, not dead yet, but after running off of two hours of sleep I certainly feel like I'm close. My Enviro Econ professor is apparently a very quick grader -- we got our exams we took Wednesday night this afternoon. And I got an 85. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDDD The exam, while tedious and rushed, was much easier than I thought it would be. :D
And I finally handed in my IEP paper this afternoon. Which I had to pull an all-nighter for. -_- It wasn't a true all-nighter, since I did sleep for two hours this morning, but since I really didn't want to do it I pretty much had to force myself to stay up to do it. And I still handed it in 20 minutes late. DDDDDDD: Of course, I e-mailed my professor with the "I'm having printer issues!" excuse a little bit before it was due, so I managed to get off the hook with that. Besides, he's the kind of easy-going guy who wouldn't punish anyone who handed their paper in a few minutes late -- at least, I hope so. ._.,
But even though I still have my stats exam tomorrow morning, the worst of this week is OVER!!! 8DDDDDD And I don't even have to study all that much for the exam, since our prof allows us to bring in three cheat sheets. Plus I never had too much of a problem with math anyway. ;-)
I also sold back books today, so I got some money to tide me over for a while. I stopped going through the campus bookstore a while ago and started with a student-run venture last year; I still don't get paid back all that much, but at least it's a little more than if I went through the bookstore. And I turned in my dorm telephone because the landlines in almost all of the dorm rooms have been disconnected to save money (since everybody uses cell phones now), but that's really about it.
fly_buggy_fly, I got your card. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD I'll write a more substantial thank you in the card I'll send you, so keep an eye out for that. ;-)
Speaking of Christmas cards:
1) If you sent me a Christmas card to my college address and I haven't received it yet, I won't be able to get it until early January.
2) I've been meaning to do my batch of cards sometime this week, but....well, if you look at my "Current Mood," that should be all you need to do. I'll write them up and sent them out on Monday at the earliest, when I'm back home.
And speaking of home:
1) As I may have mentioned before, my laptop's fan is shot, and needs to be replaced (and the insides probably need to be cleaned too). So it will be sent in for repairs as soon as I get home this weekend, and for about all of next week I will be without a computer and will have to use my parents'. I will still check in daily and comment on people's entries, but I won't be around as much, and it will probably take longer to get back to you than if I had my own computer.
2) Apparently my aunt and cousin from California will be visiting the week after next for Christmas. The last time I saw them was when I went to California for a week in August '08, so it's been a while. Should be fun. XD
So the game plan for the rest of the day is to back up stuff on my external hard drive, bum around for a while, start packing, put together cheat sheets for the exam, and get to bed early so I can get up early and make up for last night. We'll see how that goes. ^_^;
All right, how about some music? First, because this is probably the last chance I'm going to be able to do this before I go home, here's some good Christmas music from Low, one of my all-time favorite bands:
Little Drummer Boy [video] (This has to be one of the most gorgeous versions of any Christmas song I've ever heard -- if you listen to nothing else in this list, please please PLEASE listen to this one.)
Just Like Christmas [video]
Santa's Coming Over [video] (a.k.a. the creepiest, most sinister, most disturbing, and wrongest Christmas song ever)
The Coming of Jah (a.k.a. a slowcore band trying to do reggae XDDDDDDDDD)
And I hear Tori Amos and Bob Dylan have Christmas albums out now, and they look pretty interesting. I should probably check them out, no?
Some songs I'm currently obsessed with:
Pizzicato Five -- Punch the Monkey! (Remix) (thanks to
childings for showing this to me)
Pizzicato Five -- Baby Love Child
Max Pezzali & Solis String Quartet -- Hanno Ucciso L'Uomo Ragno (mainstream Italian music was never really my thing; the lyrics try to be poetic but usually end up being insipid, and because it's, well, mainstream -- but I have to say I really dig this song. Thanks to
edge_chan for the link.)
Here's this week's song:
And finally, I'm stealing this meme from
edge_chan because I sure as hell could use the pick-me-up:
"All right flist! Tell me about something you love~
Anything at all, the latest manga chapter of your beloved or that one silly screencap you got from an anime, or that fanfic you can read again and again, or a fanart image that you love so much you made it into a wallpaper. Or maybe you love a certain LJ user who writes thoughtful posts or maybe a certain comedian who always makes you laugh, or heck, even politicians that make you think there is hope for the system.
Lawyers can be loved too, as well as your pet snake that only sometimes wraps too tightly around your arm.
Show me some love! ♥".
