Dying is fine, can you tell?
Nov. 15th, 2009 02:56 pmThe only big thing I did yesterday was go see Ra Ra Riot that night. It was a very short concert -- a little over an hour, with encore (though it's expected for a band that only has one LP and one EP) -- I couldn't enjoy myself as much as I wanted to because I'm still sick, and only about 1/3rd of the room was filled (it is a very big performance space they were in, mind), but I still enjoyed myself quite a bit. I'm not normally big on poppy indie rock, but I'm a total sucker for string instruments (they have an electric violin and electric cello), and their music had a warmer feel to it than I'm used to, and it really drew me in. I liked it enough to buy The Rhumb Line at the merch table (partly as a way to make myself feel better for not picking up Bromst at Dan Deacon's concert last week); the violinist and cellist were working the merch table after the concert, and were signing T-shirts for pretty much everyone who went, LOL. Though the whole band was very gracious overall, and many people were really getting into the music, so fun times were had by all. :D The band said it was their last concert before going back into the studio for their second album, so I'll be on the lookout for that.
And today, I saw someone in a fedora with a white feather, a ski mask, gloves, and a white cape doing a bit of juggling at the dining hall. Yes, my college is weird, can't you tell by now? XD
OK, back to trying to be productive with schoolwork and failing miserably. ^_^;;
