Life update
Nov. 20th, 2009 10:46 pmUgh, I'm so tired right now it's not even funny -- well, it usually never is all that funny, but I never said I had much of a sense of humor anyway. :3 Going to bed at 3:30 AM most nights does not do wonders to one's well-being, especially if you're like me and trying to come off a cold. (I'm 99% better now, which is surprising given I tend to hold on to these things for a while. But I was coughing enough in Enviro Econ class on Monday so that the professor had to tell me, in front of everyone, to leave the room and go get something to drink. DX Yeah, I've basically concluded the guy's a bit of a douchebag based off of that incident, him mocking a student because his/her cell phone went off in class today, and a horror story from one of the people in my problem set group in which she had to miss an exam because she had to go to a wake, and the prof was pretty much unsympathetic. He's up for tenure this year, and I hope he doesn't get it and has to look for work somewhere else. The only thing he has going for him at this point is that he looks kind of like Gerard Butler. -_- Oh yes, and today I overslept and got to my first class late. Which isn't too much of a big deal for some, but is to me because I'm pretty good at not being late. :< )
The past eleven weeks have really burned me out; I've worked so hard and stressed so much that even thinking about keeping the door open or interacting with people or going to yoga or language tables or J-House events just exhausts me. I need this break coming up next week, even if I need to catch up on some reading and worry about my IEP term paper (12-14 pp. on whether or not microfinance actually does promote sustainable development, and its impact on global environmental policy) and some group projects (the last problem set for Enviro Econ, which I'm sure will get mostly finished before Thanksgiving anyway, and the group project for stats, which I don't know much about because I'm still not in a group yet and we're not allowed to work alone). But being home for much of next week will be a good breather before I go back and tackle final exams and projects.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to meet with my problem set group in the morning, and since I need to get a haircut before going back home I'd like to get that over and done with first, so I'm going to have to wake up early tomorrow. Which means going to bed early tonight (UGH D: ), so I'm going to try to keep the rest of this short. After that I plan on doing my latest stats assignment, going to anime club, and seeing Waltz With Bashir, which I've heard nothing but good things about. As for the rest of the weekend, I don't know -- probably to start packing when I go back either Tuesday or Wednesday night.
Also, I've decided that I'm ending my radio show in January. I had a great time and got to meet lots of great people and discover lots of cool music, and I'm glad I was able to stick with something since freshman year, but I've really run out of ideas, passion, and motivation for the show, the novelty has completely worn off and it's not longer all that interesting, and it's been causing me more stress lately than anything else. Plus, with such a busy schedule already next spring, it's not necessarily a time commitment I'm willing to make. I won't be doing a show next Tuesday, but I will the following Tuesday and all throughout J-term, so make sure to listen in while you have the chance! ;-)
Speaking of music, here's this week's song:
And in case anyone missed it the first time: The World of Chemistry
