[Error: unknown template qotd] .....If anyone asked me for new music recs, I would end up going on and on and on and on, and that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing.  >_>

Well, there's always these, and my list of favorite albums (as of last November, that is).  Though if we're going to stick with, well, new music, all I can recommend so far is Bat For Lashes' Two Suns and Moby's Wait For Me.  The former is awesome and creative and inspiring, and the latter is quite emotional and just feels right (and a bit simplistic, although Moby, who I admit isn't one of my absolute favorite musicians, brings a certain je ne sais quoi [sp?] that gives even his most simplistic songs emotional depth and resonance).  Oh, and I forgot Black Moth Super Rainbow's Eating Us and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart's self-titled debut as well -- both are really, really good!  (I haven't heard Okkervil River's The Stand-Ins and Dan Deacon's Bromst yet, but something tells me I'll like them, so I'll rec those anyway.  XD)

As for some of the other new albums that have gotten some hype over the past few months: I've listened to Wilco's latest self-titled, and it just left me thinking "meh" in that I-just-listened-to-something-too-saccharine-and-cavity-inducing-with-nothing-to-counteract-it way.  And TV On the Radio's Dear Science and Mono's Hymn to the Immortal Wind just failed to leave an impression.  (I find that when I listen to albums for the first time, I need to listen to it repeatedly before I know for sure whether or not I like it, but if there's nothing that grabs my attention in a really good way on the first spin, then repeat listens aren't worth it.)  I've been meaning to listen to Dinosaur Jr.'s Farm and Sonic Youth's The Eternal for a while now, though with the former I suspect I could just put on Bug or You're Living All Over Me and not tell the difference, and if we're going to be honest what little I've heard of SY has kind of bored me, so I'm not too enthusiastic (then again, the only album of theirs I've listened to from start to finish is Daydream Nation, which might explain it).  The only recent one that I've heard that piqued my interest enough to want to listen to it again is O+S's self-titled debut.

....And I'm rambling on music again.  *sigh*  I'm just feel somewhat out of the loop of all the new stuff coming out, I guess.  Basically I can't wait for the new albums by The Twilight Sad and The National to drop -- those look real promising.  :3
