Join The Madness Here
I'm not doing this meme, but I'm linking it in case you haven't heard about it by now, or you're otherwise interested.
This week -- when I wasn't finishing the rest of my break, that is -- has been mad stressful, between a geology exam (which I think I did fairly well on, all things considered), assignments for my other two classes, having to go to GIS class on Friday because we apparently had to have class this week even though it would've otherwise been canceled due to break (we held class in one of the student's apartment, and it actually went better than I expected), and lots of other things floating in my head. But right now, the only thing I have that's stressing me out any is that GIS interview thingy due this Friday (!!!), which I need to start working on, like, really soon. D: Fortunately, it turns out the final project for that class is going to be a group project now, so I'm definitely breathing a sigh of relief over that. So yeah, I've been feeling better lately, even if I still lack motivation to do anything and I'm just so over this semester, even though it's only halfway done. :/
There were some other good things about this week: a poetry slam/storytelling thing that was a joint effort between Verbal Onslaught and the college's own version of The Moth (it definitely strayed from its "(So) Over the Rainbow" theme quite a bit, but I enjoyed myself!); Native American musician Michael Jacobs performing (I bought a CD even though I found his music pleasant if not something I could really get behind, because a.) I like supporting Native artists, and b.) I think my parents would really like it -- and I was the only one who bought a CD from him, because he performed at a really bad time [Friday evening, 6-7:30 PM] and hardly anyone showed up); playing Payday with the strategic gaming crew; going here on Saturday evening and having some of their jing shan mao feng (and having a somewhat awkward conversation with the owner, because I was at the bar and he was the only customer I had most of the time I was there.....XD); and watching 24 City last night (yeah, it was an arthouse film, but even though it was a bit tough to get into, once I did I actually found it very enjoyable and moving). And of course, during my free time I've been trying to watch as much A:tLA as possible, which makes things infinitely better, so. ^_^;
And speaking of arthouse movies, here's an absolutely hilarious article on arthouse clichés that y'all should read. 8D
So yeah, that's kind of why I've fallen behind big time on commenting and posting around here -- I just either lack the energy or motivation to be as active on LJ or AIM as I'd like to be. It doesn't look like that'll be changing much within the next seven weeks, but I'll certainly try to be more active regardless. Hope everyone else is doing well! :D
