Random stuff
Sep. 3rd, 2010 01:22 am--So I'm going to be headed back up to college tomorrow afternoon (well, technically, today in the afternoon), and nothing has been packed yet. D: Oh well, I don't think it'll take too long. At least the old computer is mostly ready to be given to my sister; I still need to remove a few applications and send some e-mails to professors and I should be all set.
Anyway, I'm definitely feeling a bit nervous about the start of classes on Monday -- partly because I don't want summer to be over yet (not that it was the ~~BEST SUMMER EVAR OMG~~, but I'm going to miss being lazy and being able to get away with it), but most importantly because this is it, that after this May I will graduate and then my life will be completely my own, and the thought of that coming up so soon is really making me anxious. I mean, yeah, there's always grad school, but that's different, isn't it? AAAAAAAAAGH I DON'T FEEL READY ONE BIT D: *sigh* I'll be fine, it's just that I really want to be independent as soon as possible, but as resentful as I am about still relying on my parents so much, I still feel horrible over the fact that I still have to. =_=;
I'm definitely going to try to make the most of this year, though. I might even start my radio show up again -- as much as I grew tired of it last year, I really miss the camaraderie and the whole "being part of something bigger and meaningful" when I was there, not to mention access to its awesome music library.Even if it is staffed by hipsters. XPPP I think I'm realizing that I was more tired of what I was doing with my show rather than the station in general, so if I do decide to apply for a slot next Thursday, I'll probably change my format a little.
Plus, I hear Ian McEwan is going to be speaking there on Tuesday. I've never read any of his work, but I'm definitely going. ^_^;
--I know I had a big linkspam last entry, but here are a few more I collected recently. Again, no order, no quotes, limited commentary, and highly recommended ones are in bold.

--This is really cool -- it's a music video based off of the neighborhood in which you grew up. I really like how this was done! Be forewarned, though: it doesn't work on Firefox (it works on Safari and Google Chrome, though), and it's a huge processor hog, so make sure you have nothing else running when you play it.
--Finally, something very relevant to my interests:
(TBH, though, I don't think I'll be seeing Scott Pilgrim anytime soon, if only because Michael Cera annoys the hell out of me. :C)
