Procrastination post #2
Jan. 19th, 2010 11:50 amExactly what it says in the subject line -- something I'm writing so that I don't have to do work. ^_^;
I would be in class right now, but they were canceled because of group meetings we had today, which I already had. What I'm supposed to be doing right now is reading up on the history of Kosovo and self-defense theory, and......it's just something I can't make myself do right now. It's an interesting topic we're doing, but it's one of those things where I've been feeling moody lately and just not in the mood. I need to snap myself out of it, though, and here's why:
TODAY: Radio show (I'm SO happy I'm quitting this at the end of this month -- I was thinking about maybe continuing it into next semester, but I realized I'm totally burned out on doing it now, and besides, I have GIS next semester, so there goes any room in my schedule for doing it anyway >_>;), Japanese review session, yoga
TOMORROW: Watching The Hurt Locker in class, maybe watching a Japanese department movie called Welcome to the Quiet Room, studying for Thursday's exam (it would probably be a good idea not to go to the movie, but the movies the department puts on during J-term are almost always quite good, and they're extremely hard to find online anyway)
THURSDAY: EXAM (I got a really good grade on the last exam, so I'm not terribly worried about it, but then again -- 3 essay questions and 5 short answer questions in two hours? Meep! D8), J-House event (another maybe, but I haven't been to one all month), preparing outline/PowerPoint slides to send to group
FRIDAY MORNING: sending said outline/PowerPoint slides
SUNDAY EVENING: going over project with group (we can only do it at this time because one guy is going to be away this weekend, and another person won't be available because some hotshot production company from L.A. is coming up to film a music video for this song, which is going to be used in Nalgene commercials)
MONDAY MORNING: spending 10 minutes making an oral presentation in front of the class (which sounds long, but anyone who knows me knows I have a tendency of being as thorough as possible and rambling -- I learned my lesson from last spring, believe me)
.....and then I'll be done. XD
I'll still have to go to class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and I have to do the radio show (last one!) and yoga next Tuesday as well, but those will be my only responsibilities until I come back for spring semester in the second week of February. So vacation starts early for me, even though I'll still be at college for a part of it. ^_^;
Which means I guess I'll have to wait until then to do the following:
Of course, part of me is going, "BUT I DON'T WANT TO WAIT TO DO THIS STUFF I WANT TO DO IT NOW IT'S MUCH MORE INTERESTING DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDX" Typical, really. :PPP
All right, I probably should get back to work. Or something. Or not. We'll see. XDDDDDDDDDDDDD
(BTW, welcome to all the new folks who friended me recently!! Introduction post is here.)

Which means I guess I'll have to wait until then to do the following:
- change the journal layout and get new icons
- write posts on the following:
- Martin Luther King Jr. linkdump (it was yesterday, but I found an awesome article on
ontd_political about the "Santa Clausification" of MLK, and I want to share it and related stuff that got me really interested 8D;)
- Haiti linkdump (because there are important issues that need to be addressed, especially the history of the country and its relationship with the U.S. -- all, I hope, will be some good meat 'n' potatoes for the brain)
- "Moff's law"
- general linkdump (though these take a while to do, and I might just put then on my Delicious account anyway)
- a review of movies I've seen lately
- that 30 days meme that
crazedwolf and
shiome and
stormbringer986 are doing (though I'm probably going to have to wait, because one of the days calls for a picture taken of you at least 10 years ago, and I don't have any scanned in, and I won't have access to both such a picture AND a scanner until I get back home D:)
- .....and one or two surprises. ;-)
