Dec. 14th, 2009 02:49 pmSo I'm finally back home! I did write in Saturday night, but I haven't had a chance to update until now. ^_^;
The stats exam on Saturday went fairly well, and I got our project back already. We got a B-. Not terrible, and in a way I kinda expected it because we did it at the very last minute, but I would've hoped for something better. :P When I got back to my room my dad was already waiting; he helped me pack, and then we were on our way.
The ride home was uneventful, except for two things:
1) We stopped off for lunch at Rosie's, a restuarant in town that's popular with the locals and is known for its comfort food; I think there was only one time where I've had a bad meal there, which is very good, all things considered. They were selling bags of muffins for $2.50 each; they seemed to be homemade because there were dates on them. We bought a bag of blueberry muffins, and they turned out to be quite good! Sticky, but good. XD
2) My dad ended up mentioning that if he and my mom weren't able to find a lot of the stuff on my Christmas wish-list, they were going to give me an empty box with a note saying that they had gone "the road less traveled." (In my wish-list I suggested poetry books, while specifying "no Robert Frost.") Since he rightfully believed that I would take that very badly, he figured he'd tell me then. *facepalm* (Though he made up for this by saying he really liked Obama's Nobel speech [which I haven't watched yet], and how he really likes Obama in general, even though he's a Republican who voted for McCain. This makes me happy like you wouldn't believe. XD)
So my mom sent in my laptop yesterday, and it will be gone for a week; I'm currently using my parents' computer, and I'm still trying to get used to it because it's a Dell laptop with Windows Vista on it. :/ Not only did it turn out the fan's busted, but THE BATTERY IS DYING TOO. DDDDDDDDDDX The person at the Apple Store could tell because the battery was bulging; I noticed it too, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. So now there's that to worry about. Oh well, we certainly got our money's worth out of the warranty; after it expires in July, I don't have much choice at this point than getting a new one. Which sucks, because other than these problems the one I have right now works perfectly fine. -_-;
Yesterday wasn't all that great; everyone just seemed to be very stressed and they took it out on each other. Blah. :( But nonetheless, I'm certainly glad to be home. I got around to reading both volumes of Persepolis last night; I might write a review sometime this week but I can tell you right now that they were extremely good, better than I was expecting. :D And today I'll finally get around to the Christmas cards, which I'll be sending out tomorrow. ;-)
All right, here's a meme, ganked from
