Home again
Nov. 26th, 2008 08:18 pmWell, I made it back home about 24 hours ago. It's great to be back, even though I've only been away for about two and a half months, and only a four-hour drive away. I definitely need some time to rest and relax, especially since most of the semester has passed and I have a week to go before exams. O_o Anyway, Thanksgiving's tomorrow, and it's gonna be awesome as usual. My other grandmother (on my dad's side of the family) will be coming over. I haven't seen her since my grandfather died back in September, so it'll be interesting to see how she is doing.
I really ought to start researching that Enviro Policy paper. You know, the one I'm obsessively worried about, the one due this Monday, the one that's 10 pages long. Of course, this being my first full day back, I have zero motivation to get started on it. A friend of mine told me recently, "If you don't have the motivation to do something, then force yourself to do it." Or something like that. Oh if only it were that easy. XD Anyway, my Nature's Meaning essay due this past Monday was about 11-12 pages long, so if I start this one on Saturday and finish it up when I get back on campus on Sunday, it'll be completely doable. But if I don't want to work tomorrow (for obvious reasons), I need to get started on research tonight. -_- At least, being the quasi-vegetarian that I am, I won't get loaded up on tryptophan tomorrow, so that should help things somewhat. :D
Anyway, thought this would be interesting:
Obama Takes Down Media’s ‘Conventional Wisdom’: ‘The Vision For Change Comes From Me’
Hey, I'm not exactly the happiest with Obama's picks for his economic team either, but he did say he was going to "govern from the center." Guys, this is what "governing from the center" looks like -- at least he's making the attempt to make all sides of the political spectrum -- liberal, conservative, everyone in between, and everyone beyond that -- happy about how to fix the economic mess. And anyone who still believes Obama will bring "socializt" policies to America? They need to STFU right about ... oh, say, NOW.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! (Those who celebrate it, that is. :-)
