(no subject)
Nov. 18th, 2008 07:28 amAt college, we have to register for classes online using BannerWeb. I usually hate this -- registration opens on a class by class basis, and so when your class is up to register, everyone -- and I mean EVERYONE -- gets on their computes and tries to register. Usually this is disaster -- the site crashes often as a result -- sometimes once, sometimes twice, maybe more -- and as a result you don't get the classes you want. Like when I was trying to register for this semester, I didn't get into the classes I wanted because by the time BannerWeb FINALLY got around to registering me, some of the classes I wanted already got filled, and I had to worry about professors signing add cards when the semester finally began. As a result, it's usually a very, very nerve-wracking process.
This time around, though? Nothing happened.
Seriously, the whole thing went without a hitch. I had some slight schedule confusion by trying to schedule classes at the same time and all that, but for now at least I pretty much got into what I wanted. This, of course, is subject to change, but in five minutes I got registered, not in fifteen, which would then have resulted in me cursing technology the whole day long (even though I'm a total technophile).
Anyway, here are my classes:
Winter 2009
JAPN 0102 First-Year Japanese
Spring 2009
GEOL 0112A Environmental Geology
--GEOL 0112Y Lab
HIST 0391A Native Americans in the American Imagination
JAPN 0103B First-Year Japanese
--JAPN 0103Y Drill
JAPN 0175A Anime: Japanese Animation
The geology class is what seems to throw the whole monkey wrench into things. I'm keeping my options open right now -- maybe replacing geology with a stats class, and replacing the history seminar for a political science class or Intro to World Literature. But I got my Japanese class, and since I might be minoring in Japanese, I got one of my two cultural classes as well. And it's the ANIME class! Which, like, has no spots left right now! And I managed to get in! W00T!!1!!! XD But overall, I totally like how this went. Now to go back to sleep, take a shower, and go to class!
