Long time, no see
Oct. 25th, 2008 10:30 pmWell, the past two weeks have been quite a rollercoaster ride. I'll be brief (or at least try to) and spare you the details: a total of four midterm exams (two going extremely well, one so-so, and one utter failure because I couldn't complete it in time DX), two symposia (one on student writers, in which I participated in a poetry reading and a meeting about how to create a stronger writing community on campus; the other on food, in which at Whole Foods president Walter Robb's lecture I won an autographed copy of Hope's Edge by Francis Moore and Anna Lappé in a raffle), lots of interesting and not-so-interesting lectures (including a poetry reading by Galway Kinnell), a hike up a nearby mountain, starting weekly Korean classes again, trying to get involved in a student effort to make student class evaluations public, brunch at our first-year seminar's professor's house (where I put my foot in my mouth yet again, as I am wont to do around some of the people I know). Oh yes, and managing to potentially piss off one of the few remaining people from high school I talk to on a regular basis. D:
Phew. What a lot to condense into a single paragraph. I'm just glad I don't have a lot of homework this weekend, and that my schedule this week isn't ridiculously packed like last week. Hopefully things won't be too stressful until around Thanksgiving break -- after that, there's only one week left before finals, and that's when all the work of the semester tends to pile up. Anyway, take care and have a good weekend!
