First of all, a quick reminder for those of you who didn't catch it the first time: If you'd like a Christmas/holiday card from me, go here. Feel free to ask for one even if we haven't talked a lot. ;-)

Anyway, I figure I might as well finally get around to answering these questions:

- Comment with "Hit me!" or whatever else you want to comment with.
- I'll respond by asking you five questions.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people (if you want).

From [livejournal.com profile] hairspray:

1. what's your favourite food?
Do I have to pick just one? :P In no particular order: Chocolates, cookies, cheese, M&Ms, edamame, sushi, tempura, shrimp, ravioli, tortellini, stuffed bread, freshly cooked broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, bananas, grapes, blueberry muffins, scones, tea, iced tea. Yeah. XD

2. if you could speak any language fluently (dead or alive) what would it be and why?
Again, this one has multiple answers. Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, German, Arabic, Persian, Spanish, and a Nordic language like Danish or Norwegian. Mostly because a.) I think some of these languages would be really useful to know given their countries' growing political and economic importance, b.) I'm interested in those cultures, c.) I'd like to travel to places where these languages are spoken, d.) I'd like to talk to friends in these languages, and e.) I think it'd be fun. ^_^;

3. what's your favourite thing about your appearance?
Other than my sideburns? If you ignore the psoriasis on my face, I actually don't think I look that bad. :3

4. ever been on a roadtrip? if yes: to where and with who? if no: would you want to, and where would you go?
No, but I'd like to. I'd have no idea where I'd want to go, though, or with whom. Part of me would like to be alone going....wherever (like the places where the languages in #2 are spoken? Or the U.K. or Australia or New Zealand or Canada? IDK), but part of me also realizes that wouldn't be much fun. So. :P

5. what's your favourite genre of fiction? (sci fi, fantasy, romance, etc)
I don't really have a favorite genre just yet; I tend to stick mainly to mainstream/literary fiction, and horror, mystery, and romance generally don't appeal to me. Science fiction and fantasy do, on the other hand, and what little I've read of both genres so far has piqued my interest, so I'd like to explore those a little bit more.

From [livejournal.com profile] kalaryx:

1) What are some of the coolest or most useful websites you like to visit?
I spend way too much time on Tumblr these days, and that's where I find and post links to lots of cool and useful stuff. ^_^; Interesting websites I do find myself visiting from time to time include io9, BoingBoing, My Modern Met, Flavorwire, Pitchfork, YouTube, and a few others I can't think of right now. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, I guess, and I know I ought to branch out a bit, but still. (I could use recommendations, BTW. ~_^)

2) If you wrote a book, what would it be about?
I have a few ideas for novels floating around, actually. One such idea involves Redwall-like characters and settings, a more realistic world like ours where people can hear the prayers of said Redwall-like characters, inter-dimensional travel, strange dreams, war, blood and guts, mental illness, homosexuality, imperialism, the anxiety of growing up in the suburbs, and the blurring of the boundaries between fantasy and reality. It makes way more sense in my head, I swear. 8D

3) Do you have a particular movie or TV show that you can watch over and over again or will just put on in the background? Or a book you regularly read?
Not really, actually. Unless a.) reading/watching something was so enjoyable/moving/entertaining that I just have to read/see it again, or b.) it's been a while since I read/saw that thing and I'd like to refresh myself on it, I rarely read a book or watch a movie or TV show more than once. I'm generally pretty good at spotting little details and overarching themes the first time around, and knowing what's going to happen next or how things will go down usually kills the excitement for me. (Spoilers don't count, at least most of the time, though I try to avoid them whenever possible.) There have been some exceptions, of course -- Max Barry's Jennifer Government, A:tLA, The Lives of Others, Paprika, Evangelion, etc. -- but it's not often.

4) Books or eBooks and why?
I've never really tried eBooks (I don't have a Kindle or Nook or iPad, and I'm hesitant to read books on my phone because the screen's too small, or on my laptop because it's too cumbersome), but I'm willing to. I don't care either way -- I'll always prefer regular books, of course, but it's no big deal to me.

5) Do you prefer to call, text, email, write or instant message?
I like to e-mail, write, and IM because they allow me to think about what I'm going to say before I say it, and have it not be awkward. I don't like texting because I'm too slow at it, and phone calls don't help with my social anxiety. :PPP

From [livejournal.com profile] neonstilettos:

1. What's something you've done lately that you're proud of?
Other than graduating from college? Not much, if you come to think about it. D:

2. What's something you do to relax/unwind?
Sleep, and spend inordinate amounts of time on Tumblr. XD

3. What's a favorite childhood memory?
Winning my school's spelling bee in 8th grade. That, and family vacations (especially to Woodstock, VT; Rockport, MA; Cooperstown, NY; and Plymouth, MA).

4. Any food/drinks you're really good at preparing?
Just a plain ol' sandwich. :(

5. What's an upcoming movie that you're looking forward to?
I'm.....not actually looking forward to any big movies right now -- if anything, I'm more excited about the A:tLA sequels (The Promise and Korra) and the second season of Sherlock. In terms of movies, though....uh, does this count?

And here's another meme from [livejournal.com profile] hairspray, because I can't resist:
